From a very special, miniscule plot of less than 0.25ha comes this lovely Pinot Noir. This vineyard is shaded from the evening sun by a woodland of Stone Pine trees hence the name ‘Vinha do Pinhal’.As ever with Qunita de Sant'Ana, careful selection goes into picking the right grapes for the wine.To achieve avibrant colourwonderful spectrum of flavours, the team engaged in de-stemming and crushing 70% of the fruit with the remainder fermented as whole bunches. Further colour and flavour were extracted through regular punch-downs, in stone tanks, while malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels. The wine was aged inseasoned, 4+ year old, oak barrels for 10 months.
